Bidding is only possible once you have completed the online registration process. Once this has been completed an email will be sent to you confirming your successful registration. You may then log onto the site and start bidding. The highest bid buys the Lot, provided it has met, or exceeded the Reserve.
It is important to note that bidding is conducted in accordance with clause 9 of our terms and conditions and, most importantly, once submitted, a bid may not been withdrawn (refer clause 9.2).
Lots may be subject to a reserve which is a confidential figure between Strauss & Co. and the seller, below which a lot will not be sold. The reserve for Online Auctions is calculated at the low estimate and may not exceed the low estimate.
Strauss & Co. charges a premium to the buyer on the final hammer price calculated at 15%.
VAT is payable by all successful bidders, on the buyer’s premium only, at the applicable rate.
All lots sold will be invoiced in the name and address registered by the bidder. Successful bidders are required to make payment for their purchases within 3 working days after the closing date of the sale. Purchases will be released upon proof of payment.
