JP Meyer was born in 1960 and now lives and creates art in Porterville. He is deeply passionate about using vibrant colours in his paintings and prefers working with acrylic paint due to its modern, shiny finish and fast-drying properties. In his studio, he views his surroundings as an experimental space rather than a factory and draws inspiration from various sources such as mythology, tattoos, old writings, modern culture, posters, and colouring books. Each painting's story unfolds naturally as he works on it, which is what he enjoys most.
